Dentures are a type of removable oral appliance used to replace multiple teeth. If you are missing teeth, dentures may be the solution you need to restore the function, beauty and health of your smile. There are several types of dentures available at our office, including:

  • Complete Dentures – Complete dentures are used to replace all the teeth in a dental arch. Our dentists may recommend a complete denture to replace one or both arches, depending on your individual needs.
  • Partial Dentures – Partial dentures are recommended when you are missing multiple teeth but still have some teeth remaining. This type of denture uses a thin framework or clasps that attach to the natural teeth to provide a secure fit for your appliance.
  • Immediate Dentures – Most dentures are placed after the mouth has had time to heal from any extractions. Immediate dentures, however, are placed directly following the extraction so that you do not go for any length of time without teeth. Immediate dentures may need to be adjusted as your mouth heals to ensure that they fit and function properly.
  • Implant-Supported Dentures – This type of denture combines traditional dentures with implant dentistry. Implant-supported dentures consist of a complete or partial denture which is anchored in place using strategically placed implants. These implants provide greater stability for your denture so that you can regain your smile without the need of multiple single-tooth implants. Dentures are usually anchored with four, six or eight implants, depending on your individual needs.

Dentures improve your ability to eat and speak normally, restore your natural facial volume, and enhance the beauty of your smile as well as your overall appearance. Dentures are custom-made to fit your smile comfortably, aesthetically and securely.

When you receive dentures, our dentists will provide you with instructions on the best way to care for your appliance and keep it in good condition. We encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if your denture causes any discomfort or the appliance breaks. We will also examine it at each of your regular appointments to ensure that it is in good condition and provide any necessary maintenance.
